The run featured incredible fourth-quarter magic, starting in Week 12 when Young rallied Tennessee from a 21-3 deficit to beat the New York Giants 24-21. In Week 13, Rob Bironas nailed a 60-yard field goal to top Indianapolis 20-17. One week later, Young sealed a 26-20 overtime win against Houston with a walk-off 39-yard touchdown run. Tennessee then edged Jacksonville 24-17 - despite recording only 98 yards of total offense - and outlasted Buffalo 30-29 to keep their playoff hopes alive until the last game of the season.

While missing the postseason hurt, the 2006 season re-established the Titans' competitive identity. Young captured Offensive Rookie of the Year honors after orchestrating four fourth-quarter comebacks across 13 starts. Henry ranked sixth in Comeback Player of the Year voting following his 1,200-yard campaign, while Jones proved lethal on special teams with 440 punt return yards.
