The season’s trajectory was defined by erratic swings and sudden collapses. A dominant 40-25 Week 4 road victory over the Baltimore Ravens showcased their ceiling, powered by Chubb’s 165 rushing yards. However, consecutive losses to San Francisco, Seattle, New England and Denver exposed their structural flaws. A highlight occured during a Week 11 victory against the rival Pittsburgh Steelers, an ugly contest marred by a late-game brawl that cost them Garrett for the remainder of the year. Destructive losses to lesser teams like the Broncos and Cardinals down the stretch cemented their failure.

Missing the postseason, this squad left a legacy defined by missed opportunities and unfulfilled potential. Landry and Chubb earned Pro Bowl honors, but individual accolades could not salvage the wreckage. Kitchens was promptly fired after the season finale loss to Cincinnati.
